some stuff

Here are some ideas I had:

This one is for a video game that I think would be pretty cool. Pretty much you play as a knight for some church and the church has arrested your girlfriend for suspicion of witchcraft. Or maybe she isn't your girlfriend. It would be an ambiguous relationship ala SotC. Anyways you have to go against your church to save her.

SOUNDS LIKE ICO, RIGHT?

here comes the twist: on the way to the church, you meet the real witch, the one behind the sorcery that your friend has been accused of. She knows you have the ability to open the church's holy barriers that prevent her from entering. She is incredibly powerful and can help defeat the guards. The odd couple!

So pretty much gameplay is you running around swinging a sword while she does energy blasts and stuff. The dynamic is how much you're willing to appease her. You have like a piousness meter that lets you do your most powerful holy sword attacks but every time you let her do something demonic or otherwise evil i.e. torturing an already incapacitated guard or something your piousness decreases. However if you don't let her do such things her powers start to get weaker and she may completely abandon you or attack you. You don't control her by menus or anything but my subtly threatening her or rewarding her through in game actions. She is physically very small and weak so often you'll have to help her with gaps and such and you have to like, hold open energy barriers for her. You can sort of like train her if you do it right.

ANYWAYS near the end of the game there's multiple endings based on how evil you/the witch are. One of them might be a big tweest where the witch kills your girlfriend or whatever anyways. Or you can betray the witch at the end. A big theme is reluctance, this was your church while growing up and such and you don't really want to do this and aside from locking up your girlfriend (ANOTHER TWEEST: she was framed by the real witch) they're pretty much stand-up guys.

But yeah this would be a very "artsy" game with a focus on really solid fighting mechanics and a well integrated storyline. And maybe after you beat it you can play as the witch or something. i dunno.
