That ambiguous song structure... is it pop? It feels poppy! And yet, that level of nosiness, that level of chaos... can you really call it pop?

i'm not sold entirely on some of the lyrics ("bionic heehaw"?) but
"OUR HOME IS BIGGER THAN A MOUNTAIN VIEW/YOU FIND SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE YOU SHOULD DO" is PRETTY ANTHEMIC, and the CRUNCH of the guitar behind it OH MAN.
it's both churning and bouncy.

AND OH MAN, THE BREAKDOWN ON THE ENDING, those descending vocals, the way the rhythm just combusts on itself, the crazy noises fading into SOMETHING ELSE AMAZING I BET

getting excited for upcoming music is always fun and getting excited for new anco is prolly the most fun because when the album actually comes out there's no chance of not getting blown away. no matter how bad or good it actually ends up being is irrelevant cause you're just gonna get blown away the first time. a lot of animal collective does end up "growing on you" but the first time will always just exceed your expectations in a way that made your expectations seem neither too high or low but just silly.
i'm so excited for people to talk about how much they like it cause they always do cause haters gonna have better things to do with their time
"erratic seesaws" seems a bit too cloying, i wish animal collective would call up doseone and be like "hey i have a lot of great messages of sincerity and humbleness and interpersonal relationships and knowing yourself but uhh sometimes when i do imagery it's really hit and miss and i'm worried that i'm an album or so away from being arcade fire and no one having any idea what i'm talking about and tolerating me like eighth grade poetry" and doesone would be like I'M THERE
seriously anco is SO hit and miss with imagery sometimes. they toe the hell out of the line between "ultra cool evocative inspirational" and "lame as hell", i think they just write themselves into corners sometimes and do the best they can and sometimes it falls flat. arcade fire though i think they just have some really crazy ideas about suburbia that revealed themselves as being more and more crazy and less and less childhood-type innocent as the albums went on, like, do you ever go back to Neighborhood 1 and think oh man maybe this wasn't the cute imagination of two love addled youth and is actually just a crazy apocalyptic fantasy? and then Neighborhood 3 makes a lot more sense?

I also maybe want to talk about Kokoro Connect sometime soon because I'm finding it very interesting and the latest episode is pretty controversial.
