The Animal's Collection new album Sentepyd Hurts is Oughtie 2012

Incessant blog posting continues

Yes, at this point, I am basically spamming my own blog.

Music stuff

Animal Collective - Centipede Hz

Today I woke up with the chorus from "Father Time" stuck in my head and a strong, strong desire to go listen to it. But I resisted. Then there was a supposed "legitimate rip" from /mu/ which was apparently somewhat substantiated, since they had a version of "New Town Burnout" in FLAC. But my natural skepticism of /mu/ actually producing anything of worth ever won out, it was a fake. I still dunno what the story on the FLAC was. It's day two. Will I make it to a legitimate release?

Wow that's it for music
Yeah because really all I've been listening to aside from that as heavy trapping music and what can you really say about that? I can say that 2 Chainz is perhaps the artist for whom I have the most volatile opinion. Like he goes really hard on "Beez in the Trap" but I really hate him on "I Luv Dem Strippers". I dunno probably not worth considering like... at all.

Anime

YuruYuri
Second season continues to impress. The sisters-centered episode was a delight, as I thought it'd be. The way Akane is doled out in the tiniest of increments is really entertaining. The scene with her was basically perfect. The Christmas episode was pretty good too. I think that was the longest uninterrupted karaoke scene I've actually seen in anime. Akari singing her song was brutal to mine heart. The scene of Chinatsu and Yui's date was quite heartwarming too, but it seems like namori is really hesitant to ever move that far from jokes in YuruYuri, saving the like, legit stuff for YuriYuri etc. Which is sort of a shame 'cause I'd love to see stuff like that animated. Also TOTALLY UNEXPECTED: addressing heteronormality in YuruYuri??? I have no idea what to think of this. This is a show where you can count the number of male background characters on one hand. And now China's doubting the pureness of the purest form of love? Truly an unforeseen development! Will YuruYuri delve into these controversial issues that lie in the innermost hearts of these maidens? Nah we're probably gonna go back to gags immediately.

Tari Tari
All caught up with this. Really enjoyed Sawa's arc, it was a nice sorta inverse of Wakana's. The issue of fun vs. responsibility is sorta overdone at this point maybe? Oh well. It was dang heartwarming when she overheard her dad going to bat for her, it really legitimized his character and gave the turning point of the arc a comprehensively climatic feeling. But then she rode her horse to school and I couldn't stop laughing I mean Sawa that is not how it works, where did you even leave your horse? Why didn't you get your parents to drive you or something? YOU COULD'VE BADLY HURT THE HORSE BY MAKING HER GALLOP DOWN A PUBLIC STREET, YOU SILLY GIRL. Anyways it looks like Wein is getting the next arc, which is good, because he's super-best character number one. I like how the other characters are involved during the episodes centering around one character, they can be really endearing by just using them for recurring gags and such, see: Konatsu's assumption that Sawa was in love; everything Wein does.

Kokoro Connect
This has been good too. The whole "desires unleashed" thing is a bit less interesting now that it's usually just someone realtalking someone else really hard 'cause I mean in a lot of genres of shows that's just how people talk to each other anyways. Sorta like Kyoani with Hyouka I feel like Silver Link is trying to bring back the structures and tropes of non-SoL genres into anime. Here they realized that they can't really do a character drama if people in it interacted in the normal harem or SoL way, that is, lots of gags, misunderstandings and being too nervous to say anything. Hence this development, I guess. It's still fun sure but I'm beginning to just think about what the next crazy scenario will be which doesn't seem right. I love all the characters, though, especially Iori and Nagase. The MC's pretty good too, interesting look at the typical shonen-style relentless white knight.

Saki
I'm all caught up on Saki-A and holy cow that show is hype as hell. The first few episodes seemed like just a non-stop montage and I was like, man, when are they actually gonna show some mahjong? Oh by the way I'm like totally in love with mahjong now, it's quickly becoming my favorite like social-tier game. But yeah it turns out that I'd rather see shonen-style mahjong interspersed with SoL/yurish flashbacks than straight SoL! Surprised even me. But then they spent 4 episodes on the first game of the semifinals! I'm all for that. It was crazy intense. Toru is like, emperor. And Toki/Ryuuka is perhaps the actual OTP in a show full of OTPs. Oh man and they way they brought back all the side characters of the first season? That was perfect. And I still can't get over how they managed to have Saki both as like, endearing protagonist and terrifying beast antagonist, that's really nice. Now that I'm caught up I'm probably gonna start jonsing really hard for more mahjong action. I'm considering rewatching the first season now that I actually understand the game, but I should probably keep watching the Lone Wolf and Cub movies or Breaking Bad instead. Oh yeah, I started watching Breaking Bad, I'm near the end of the second season, really liking it a lot more. When they had the mariachi band intro I really fell in love hard.

I think after the second season I'll make another post about it.

This is it for this post though.
